A Bit About Me

I grew up with a close knit family in Denver, Colorado where I quickly learned the advantages of hard work and people skills from my business savvy parents. In December of 2018, I graduated early from Cherry Creek High School, the same high school my parents attended, where I excelled in math and business electives. Within the school, I participated in Volleyball as a middle and opposite hitter, and DECA- a business competition club.

 

I learned many things in school, but outside of school as a competitive horseback rider is where I learned a majority of the life skills I use today . I was taught budgeting, communication, time management, respect, dignity, diligence, teamwork and the power of wanting something. Upon reflection, those years were the most important and those skills and lessons are what help me thrive in today's social and economic environment.

 

In August 2019, I packed up and moved to Tucson, Arizona to attend the University of Arizona. Through hard work, resilience, and 125+ credit hours I have graduated from the Eller College of Management, Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy in 2023. 

My career goal is to find work that offers me task variety and opportunity for growth within the company. I have chosen to earn an accounting degree due to its versatility in the work environment.

HERSH24K & WOW LUXURY PROPERTIES. Working alongside the founder of the company, David Hersh, and his assistant, Courtney Pearson, I served as the Accounting Supervisor. By watching over the bank and doing daily entries, I prepared for monthly statement releases and reports for the individual loaners and owners of the companies. WOW Luxury Properties, LLC oversaw the construction of multimillion dollar homes where I was responsible for contingency loans and construction loan entries. Hersh24k, LLC is the Real Estate entity that needed my attention for monthly budgets, daily business expenses, and purchase and sale of property records. On a yearly basis I pay property taxes, 1099, end of the year statement and new loan preparation. 

KAIZEN ASSET MANAGEMENT. I was fortunate to receive an opportunity for professional advancement and was appointed as the Senior Staff Accountant for multiple companies within a team of two. My daily responsibilities revolved around managing significant volumes of invoices, processing payments, maintaining vendor communications, and executing adjustments to ensure the accuracy of prior financial statements, thereby presenting a comprehensive overview of each company's financial position.

On a monthly basis, I conducted bank statement reconciliations using QuickBooks, facilitated the issuance of financial statements, and administered disbursements to owners as required, while also addressing negative account balances through appropriate billing procedures. Additionally, I gained exposure to the intricacies of filing Transient and 1099 taxes during January, alongside assisting my colleague in liaising with the Department of Revenue to report earnings effectively.

MARK-TAYLOR.  As an Accounting Assistant I specialized in Accounts Payable, a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions within the organization. This position primarily focuses on managing accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and reconciliation of financial records. I collaborate closely with the finance team to maintain financial integrity and support the company's overall financial operations.

MARRIOTT HOTEL. I began as bartender and transitioned to the front office to eventually be trained as the nightly paperwork auditor. I have provided guests with exceptional customer service while maintaining corporate standards in all positions.  I excelled at organizing and filing postings, nightly cash and credit transactions, and ensuring accuracy of inputs for the accounting office. This experience gave me valuable training to be in a Marriott accounting and/or managerial position.

ZOE SALON & SPA. Solved complex scheduling issues for both clients and technicians. Supported the company in client retention, monitoring the product inventory as well as sales of services and products.

MARSICO ENTERPRISES LLC. Created a positive impression of the company by welcoming all current and potential clients and linking them with their respective agents. Learned how to gage trends in financial markets and overall economy. Built a knowledge base of how Limited Liability Corporations are started and operated.
